LEFKOS VILLAGE

Lefkos is a small fishing village on the NW coast of the island and it has one of the nicest beaches in Karpathos. The village is about 33 km from Pigadia. There are many hotels in or near the village, so finding accomodation is generally not a problem. There are also several restaurants that serve good seafood. Other items of interest in Lefkos include the foundation of an ancient church and a Roman cistern.

ancient church and a Roman cistern. Daily buses leave Pigadia for Lefkos. Lefkos is often said to be the jewel of the island. Lefkos has three horseshoe bays of white sand and a wealth of pine trees. You will swim at the beaches of the settlement of Lefkos, at Potali and Foki. With an excursion boat you will reach the beaches of Froisi, Lares, Makris Gialos, Aghia Irini and Fises. On April 23rd there is a celebration in honour of St. George. Daily buses leave Pigadia for Lefkos.
